Investigators Learn about our Physicians


The Center for Pharmaceutical Research has been located on the St. Joseph Medical Center campus since 1986. Many of our board-certified investigators are on campus and have long-term relationships with Dr. Ervin. In addition, each of our investigators regularly receives ICH/GCP training.

John Ervin, MD Dr. Ervin founded The Center for Pharmaceutical Research in 1986 and currently serves as the President / General Manager, Medical Director, and Principal Investigator for the majority of our clinical trials.

Dr. Kanarek Dr. Henry Kanarek has served as a sub-investigator at The Center for Pharmaceutical Research since 2010. He is an adult and pediatric allergist who has been in private medical practice since 1993.

Dr. Schloegel Dr. Robert Schloegel, FAAP grew up in Kansas City and attended Rockhurst High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Creighton University and his medical degree from the University of Missouri in 1990. His pediatric residency program was completed at Children's Mercy Hospital.

Dr. Wichman Dr. Jason Wichman, FAAP grew up in Manhattan, Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in nutrition. He completed medical school at the University of Kansas and residency at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

Stacey Shoman, ARNP Stacey Shoman, ARNP has served as a sub-investigator for clinical trials since 2011. She was born and raised in Flemington, New Jersey prior to moving to the Kansas City area in high school. She received her undergraduate nursing degree from Pittsburg State University in 1996 and her Master's Degree and a nurse practitioner from UMKC in 2006.

Hannah Harris, ARNP Hannah Harris, ARNP has worked with The Center for Pharmaceutical Research as a sub-investigator since 2011. Hannah was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She received her undergraduate nursing degree from Duke University, and her Master's degree in maternal/child nursing from the University of Kansas.
